The COVID-19 crisis has demonstrated the importance of contact with nature to maintain well-being and its importance to society. In particular, resilience based on nature has been and remains a major condition for the attractiveness of territories. Therefore, nature can be identified as one of the main factors of rural attractiveness, playing a central role in the economy of rural areas.

In this context, the “Fabrique Prospective” french program seeks to highlight the characteristics of nature – diversity, richness, health, enhancement – with the aim of supporting four rural municipalities in building a territorial project based on nature, as an asset for attractiveness and resilience.

This mission is being carried out under the responsibility of the French agency in charge of territorial cohesion (“Agence nationale de la cohésion des territoires”), the French Biodiversity Office, the Ministry of Ecological Transition and the French regions orgnisation.

Vertigo Lab works on:

  • Territorial diagnoses;
  • Ecosystem services;
  • Strategic planning of rural development using foresight methodologies.
