Thomas holds a PhD in Environmental Economics (Portsmouth, UK) and is a graduate agronomist from AgroParisTech.

Specializing in natural resource management, he worked as an analyst at the OECD and at the Institute for European Environmental Policy in London on European environmental policies. He was a researcher at the Centre for Economics and Management of Aquatic Resources at the University of Portsmouth before founding Vertigo Lab in 2011.

He is interested in innovative ways to reconcile nature and the economy, particularly through measuring impact on nature, designing sustainable public policies, economic models for ecological transition, and financing mechanisms for ecosystem conservation. Since 2011, he has also been running a farm specializing in organic fruit growing, viticulture, and cereal production.
