Context
Towards a sustainable blue economy, designed by and for Guyana
Although the blue economy sectors already benefit from specific diagnostics and action plans in Guyana, it has proven necessary to define a common vision and shared work axes.
Designing the strategy for the blue economy of the territory and its governance
service
Following the diagnosis of the Guyanese blue economy published in April 2020, Vertigo Lab intervened, during a second mission, on the development of a blue economy strategy aimed at bringing together the actors of the blue economy around a shared vision.
A proposal for a governance structure dedicated to the implementation of this strategy has also been developed.
Structuring results for Guyana and the Outermost Regions
BENEFITS
This work thus allows Guyana to respond to the request made by Europe to the Outermost Regions (RUP) as part of the communication (COM ([[NUM]]) [[NUM]] final) on "a renewed strategic partnership with the outermost regions of the EU."
Beyond compliance with European expectations, the sustainable blue economy strategy in Guyana offers a clear roadmap to coordinate actors, pool levers, and strengthen the economic resilience of the territory in the face of environmental and social challenges.
Translating an ambitious political vision into an operational strategy for a sustainable and adapted blue economy through our expertise in territorial economics.
