Context
Accelerating biodiversity strategies for businesses in New Aquitaine
The regional project call "Nature and Transitions," led by the New Aquitaine Region with the support of actors like Soltena, aimed to accelerate the consideration of biodiversity in the projects of territories and businesses. Its objective was clear: to support concrete actions that both reduce impacts on ecosystems, restore nature, and develop solutions based on living systems. It was aimed at a wide variety of stakeholders (local authorities, businesses, associations) with a logic of experimentation and action.
Beyond funding, this initiative primarily encouraged structured and replicable approaches capable of sustainably transforming practices. Soltena played a key role in helping businesses understand their dependencies on nature and in building operational biodiversity strategies. The challenge was therefore not just to act occasionally, but to develop models capable of scaling up.

Expérimenter une méthode d’accompagnement pour 9 entreprises
The pilot operation "Business and Biodiversity" was selected as part of this regional project.
Elle permet d’expérimenter une méthodologie pour accompagner un groupe de 8 entreprises pionnières dans l’élaboration d’une stratégie engageante en faveur de la biodiversité et la mise en œuvre d’un plan d’actions ambitieux.
The operation guides the winning companies through an individual and collective journey of 18 months to develop an adapted and replicable support approach.
Vertigo Lab was directly involved in supporting 4 of them.
BENEFITS
From understanding impacts to operational implementation
Initially, this experimentation supported the companies, through an individualized diagnosis, in understanding their links to ecosystem services, perceiving their impacts, and identifying their levers for action.
This allowed them to define and prioritize their main issues and their strategy, which is outlined in a multi-year action plan.
In a second phase, the companies engaged in the operational implementation of their action plan by involving their stakeholders.
