Context
Towards the green growth of Grand Dax
In the face of increasing environmental, economic, and social challenges, Grand Dax has been committed to sustainable development for several years. Today, it aims to strengthen its commitment through a development strategy that combines energy transition and green growth, enabling the economic growth of the region through the creation of sustainable and non-offshorable jobs, while relying on the diversification and enhancement of its natural capital.

Co-construct a bio-inspired strategy with local stakeholders
Vertigo Lab has supported the community in developing a coherent, efficient territorial project that serves ecological and energy transition, in a word: bio-inspired.
A diagnosis based on 6 principles of living systems was conducted using a methodology specifically developed for territorial assessments. This methodology utilized tools such as ImpacTer and the material flow assessment.
It highlighted the socio-economic impacts of the region's activities, the material flows at the territorial level, as well as the sectors that generate the most impacts and the most sustainable non-offshorable jobs in the region.
Following this initial review, a co-creation day with the community stakeholders – Vertigo Hack – took place, setting the milestones for the bio-inspired strategy and the action plan that Vertigo Lab is now working on.

Reveal the economic impacts and strategic levers of the territory
The territorial diagnosis identified the strengths and weaknesses of the region in terms of jobs created and contribution to GDP. It appears that:
- The expenditure of 1 million euros in the Grand Dax area generates 8 jobs in the region.
- The expenditure of 1 euros in the Grand Dax area generates 1,047 euros of production in Grand Dax.
- The human health sector contributes 13% of GDP to the Grand Dax economy, placing it at the forefront.
