The study of Vertigo Lab included a field survey of a representative sample, the creation of evolution scenarios to estimate the value placed on the Conservatory's preservation efforts by 2050, and the calculation of the heritage benefits of the protected sites.

What are the socioeconomic benefits of coastal protection?
The non-use value associated with the protection of the Conservatory sites was estimated at 7,11 € per person, amounting to nearly 280 million euros per year for the entire adult French population.
These results highlighted the French people's desire to see their coastline protected. They also provide valuable economic indicators for decision-makers, allowing for the quantification of the benefits of a protection policy beyond its immediate uses.
