Context

Study of ADEME's research investment strategy

ADEME is at the heart of implementing national research strategies by providing financial and programming support to research projects that meet societal expectations and assist public authorities in building resilient policies.

To this end, ADEME develops a Research Development Innovation Strategy every six years that aligns with the Horizon Europe framework program and FEDER-FSE structural funds. In addition to these funds, there are those from Europe's environmental policy, which relies on LIFE mechanisms.

ADEME's Research Strategy 2014-2021 aimed to meet the objectives set by the draft law on energy transition for green growth.

Capitalizing on knowledge to strengthen R&D strategy

Vertigo Lab conducted an impact study of ADEME's research investments to identify levers for effectiveness and coherence in its R&D strategy while enhancing its ability to direct future investments towards the priority issues of climate, health, and society.

We supported the implementation of ADEME's R&D strategy 2021-2027, particularly the deployment of the Concerted Action and Research Program (PARC) "Environmental, Climate, and Health Impacts," by conducting a review of actions from 2014 to 2021.

Towards better efficiency in research and innovation policies

BENEFITS

This work of capitalizing on research has concretely measured the returns on ADEME's investments in environmental, health, and social research.

The study also contributed to improving the clarity of research results and strengthening synergies between researchers, institutions, and public decision-makers, key elements for impactful research serving ecological transition.

A unique expertise in strategic evaluation of public research, mobilizing economics, scientific policy, and impact analysis to guide tomorrow's environmental investments.
