Facilitating the transfer and establishment of sustainable agricultural operations in livestock farming
Context
Facilitating the establishment of sustainable livestock operations
WWF France supports the transformation of agricultural models to reduce pressures on biodiversity, soils, water, and climate, while maintaining the economic viability of farms. To secure the renewal of agricultural generations and guide new establishments towards agroecological models, as a significant number of farmers are retiring, WWF France sought assistance in building a project for the transfer and establishment of sustainable agricultural operations.
service
Designing a support system for responsible and sustainable livestock establishments
Vertigo Lab worked on a support system for project leaders, aiming for the economic structuring of agricultural operations and a systematic consideration of environmental issues.
The added value of Vertigo Lab lies in its ability to design a system that is both innovative, directly deployable, and designed to be evaluated. Unlike a purely theoretical approach, the intervention was structured to be quickly implemented on the ground, while integrating impact measurement mechanisms from the outset.
Vertigo Lab also ensured the reproducibility of the model, so it could be replicated in different regions. Finally, the developed approach is distinguished by a systemic vision of impacts, taking into account both the benefits for farmers, territorial dynamics, and effects on ecosystems.
It also aimed to ensure the reproducibility of the system and its ability to generate measurable impacts, both for farmers, territories, and ecosystems.
BENEFITS
An operational, reproducible, and impact-oriented approach
The project enables WWF France to have a concrete and directly deployable system to support sustainable livestock establishment.
It consolidates WWF France's credibility on agricultural issues by combining economic performance with environmental requirements.
The + Vertigo Lab
Expertise in economic modeling, agricultural project engineering, and structuring impact systems, to move from experimentation to scale.
