Measuring the territorial impact and attractiveness of Centrale Marseille
In this context, the Centrale Méditerranée School commissioned Vertigo Lab and Technopolis to study its territorial impact on economic development and the attractiveness of the Aix-Marseille Provence metropolis and the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region.
Two major objectives structured this study. The first was to study the school's impact on the economic development of the territory by assessing its socio-economic returns, taking into account direct, indirect, induced, and catalytic effects related to its activities.
The second part aimed to study the perception of the Centrale Méditerranée School by recruiters to appreciate its role in the attractiveness of the territory and in structuring regional economic ecosystems.
BENEFITS
Significant socio-economic returns at the local and regional levels
The study estimated the socio-economic returns associated with the presence of the Centrale Méditerranée School at the level of the Aix-Marseille Provence metropolis and the PACA region.
In 2017, the school's activity generated 39 M€ in production, 29,4 M€ in added value, and 283 full-time equivalent jobs (FTE) for the Aix-Marseille metropolis, and 48,9 M€ in production, 32,2 M€ in added value, and 318 FTE at the regional level. These returns are primarily driven by the school's operating expenses, which concentrate the bulk of the observed economic effects.
