A day to think about biomimicry as a lever for transformation

On January 17th, the Hotel de Region in Bordeaux hosted the presentation of the study commissioned by the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region and Ceebios on the potential for developing biomimicry in the New Aquitaine territory.

Significant economic impacts at the territorial level

The results of the evaluation of the socio-economic impacts of biomimicry development in Nouvelle-Aquitaine were then presented.

The results of the evaluation of the socioeconomic impacts of biomimicry development in New Aquitaine were then presented. In the four sectors studied (housing, chemistry and materials, agriculture, and ocean), the development of biomimicry in New Aquitaine could create 5,626 jobs and generate €575 million within 10 years at the territorial level. The study is available here, and the infographic summarizing the results is available here. A summary version will be available shortly. We again thank all the actors and experts in biomimicry who contributed to this study.

The afternoon was dedicated to launching thematic working groups: biomimicry and housing; biomimicry and materials; and biomimicry and blue growth.
