Context
The Fishing Reserve of Cap Roux has been a protected reserve since 2003 with a total fishing ban. The reserve aims to preserve marine biological resources while supporting sustainable professional fishing around the site.
An assessment of ecosystem services to inform management choices

Vertigo Lab identified and characterized the ecosystem services of the reserve, then conducted an economic assessment of these services. Management scenarios were developed, and the benefits of enhanced protection were estimated.

BENEFITS
The mission provided a clear vision of the total economic value of the site, as well as estimating the added value of integrated management. It also provided solid arguments in favor of better management of resources and habitats.
An economic expertise applied to ecosystem services was mobilized, with the capacity to design concrete and quantified scenarios.
