Feasibility study for the creation of an agricultural business incubator
Context
Structuring the creation of an agricultural business incubator in the territory
To promote the establishment of these new farmers and stimulate innovation, test spaces, commonly referred to as "agricultural incubators," have gradually emerged in France and now represent a promising source of territorial development.
The 3CGLG community wanted to study the opportunity of creating an agricultural test space in its territory. It is facing the challenges and issues of current agriculture (aging population, decrease in cultivated agricultural land, etc.).
service
A feasibility study and a territorial diagnosis
Vertigo Lab assisted the Community of Communes of Coteaux and Landes de Gascogne in assessing the feasibility of a connected agricultural business incubator linked to the food supply chains in the department.
We conducted a feasibility study for the project, an operational study, and business plans. The territorial diagnosis highlighted the numerous agricultural strengths of the community of municipalities, including a strong inclination towards innovation and organic farming, while also identifying two main needs: on one hand, securing supply by renewing the generations of farmers and welcoming new farms, and on the other hand, developing local productions for existing markets.
The goal: to move from a strategic intention to an operational, economically viable, and structuring device for the territory.
