The Forest Company, a subsidiary of the Caisse des Dépôts and manager of 310 000 hectares of forests, is a major player in the wood industry.
It aimed to diversify its activities, expand its scope to the agricultural sector, and contribute to the agroecological transition as well as the adaptation of ecosystems to climate change.
The project: develop a fund to support agricultural land holding and the establishment of first-time buyers.

Assess the feasibility of an agroforestry model and investment
The mission aimed to support the Forest Company in the operational construction of this fund.
It involved evaluating the economic feasibility and benefits of agroforestry in different agricultural systems to test its robustness.
It also included defining a land investment policy, structured through a SWOT analysis.
Finally, it planned the development of practical tools for selecting land and project holders, with a focus on supporting their establishment.

The stakes of this study were multiple.

Finally, it allowed for the creation of a real toolbox for selecting land and farmers, with operational analysis grids and project evaluation criteria.
