Support for FAYAT group's CSRD compliance in the construction sector
Context
Transforming CSRD into a strategic lever for a construction group
For a group like Fayat, CSRD compliance is important because its activities (construction, infrastructure, materials) are heavily exposed to environmental and social challenges. The directive was not just a reporting exercise: it allowed for better management of key issues such as carbon emissions, biodiversity, resources, or the value chain.
It was also a strategic lever. In public markets and with financiers, demonstrating environmental performance became a decisive criterion. A well-executed CSRD would therefore allow Fayat to anticipate requirements, secure its markets, and transform a regulatory constraint into a management tool.

Deploying CSRD compliance at the group level
The mission's objective was to support the group in its CSRD compliance through a pilot mission with 4 divisions: Buildings division, Public Works division, Cleantech division, and Road Equipment division.
The mission was broken down into several structured steps, carried out jointly with the company kShuttle:
- The first step involved conducting a double materiality analysis, assessing both Fayat's impact on the environment and the environment's impact on Fayat, through stakeholder consultations within the group.
- The second step focused on conducting a gap analysis between the group's current reporting and the CSRD requirements.
- The third step aimed to prepare the non-financial reporting required under the CSRD, including the mapping of the reporting.
Finally, the mission included the implementation of the European Taxonomy.
BENEFITS
Structuring a robust and operational non-financial reporting
This approach allowed for the structuring of a coherent reporting framework, aligned with European regulatory requirements, while enhancing the group's ability to manage its environmental impacts and risks.
It also provided a consolidated view across the different divisions, facilitating decision-making and the integration of sustainability issues into operations.
